Our Home

The Newman Center Chapel has served this apostolate since it’s construction in 1968/1969. Though it has taken many different looks over the decades, it’s mission of providing a throne room for the Living God and a sanctuary for Kearney college students has never wavered.

St. Teresa of Calcutta Chapel is located at 813 W 27th St. and is open to students and the Catholic community of Kearney daily from 7am to 11pm. Our liturgy and devotional schedule can be found at their respective pages on our site.

Recent Renovation

In the summer of 2023, St. T’s staff and volunteers worked together to improve our Chapel space in light of a prolonged capital campaign timeline. The project totaled around $10,000 in updates and included new signs, a automatic door locking system, entirely new chapel lighting, paint and flooring in the sanctuary, and custom vinyl window sheets of stained glass. This renovation is designed for the next five classes of college students at UNK, CCC, and UNMC.

We rely on the generous support of alumni and friends of St. T’s to fuel our ministry and any special projects. Stained Glass window sponsorships are available to cover the cost of this small but space-changing renovation.
